Description
Portrait of Ian Dury. Photographer David Corio recalls, “This was an unposed shot taken backstage at the Brighton Top Rank just before Ian was due to go onstage with The Blockheads. I’d known Ian from when he played drums in Wreckless Eric’s band before he signed to Stiff Records. I was 16 then and he was always encouraging me to take photos. He was a lovely man and a great subject to photograph. His presence, style and humour were so distinctively him. He is greatly missed.”. Brighton, 10th June 1980. (Photo David Corio) Edition 100
